INTRODUCING, BEC AND JONNY

Whether it was October 2021 or 2022 these two had their mind set on Waiheke. Patiently waiting their turn they got the very day they had hoped for. Clear skies, warm October temperatures and beautiful Spring time light. Mr and Mrs Hurn had their eyes locked on each other from those very first ceremony moments - taking in every aspect of the day together. Their military grade planning meant every moment on the island was sorted. Guests knew where to be - our travels were sorted for us and these two could relax and really celebrate in the festivities of their big day. Blink twice and you’d think this slick tux and his elegant bride were in Tuscany.

Hannah and Tim, Oreti Village Wedding Film

Hannah and Tim, Oreti Village Wedding Film

INTRODUCING HANNAH AND TIM

This dynamic duo may seem like familiar faces to those who follow football, first bought to light thanks to the 2008 FIFA World Cup. But as the flawless MOH speech alluded to there may have been a mix up between the two sisters identities throughout the campaign (Beth great speech, well played). All joking aside this is the story of a talented couple who came through many adversities to celebrate their day - and celebrate with an absolute smile they did.

Overlooking Lake Taupo Hannah and Tim celebrated their wedding on a scorching summers day with a bridal party that had us on our toes from the moment we arrived.

Shannai and Andrew, Whanganui Wedding Film

INTRODUCING SHANNAI AND ANDREW

Shannai and Andrew - with the help from their families took on the task of converting their once well known Whanganui Theatre (now a family home) into their own purpose built wedding venue. A spot with local history and one that has entertained the pair and their kids over the past few years. This spot came as the perfect venue for their wedding day - and what a set up they created!

A room full of all their friends and family, styled with the elegant dining set up from George & Co Events and the smell of Crafted and Co burgers filling the evening air. A room covered head to toe with the creations of Evoke Floral Stylist - this was a day of celebration that reminded us all of what this once Whanganui theatre used to be like.

Jess and Dylan, Hahei Wedding Film

Jess and Dylan, Hahei Wedding Film

INTRODUCING JESS AND DYLAN

JESS AND DYLAN - “THE WEDDING DAY GAME CHANGERS”

When Jess first emailed me about her July beachside wedding I knew this wedding was set to be something bold and special. A couple deciding to think outside the box - stepping away from the typical and the normal and doing something that they felt was their own.

A black marquee, black candles, soft winter tones in their florals - a look that came together as sharp, slick and unique. In these forever changing times there is something to be said for those who look for new ways of doing things (adapt and you’ll win!).

A winter beachside wedding may sound crazy to some but to Jess and Dylan this was everything they wished for. The rain didn’t dampen a thing - in fact it created its own spectacle. Looking out to Hot Water Beach, hardly a breath of wind and a soft grey and muted sky as the back drop for their reception.

Seeing Jess and Dylans guests walk into a candle lit marquee with dark wooden tables, while the sun slowly set and the rain softly fell on the roof of their reception just showed how genius their wedding day plans really were. Their guests all arrived into their reception blown away, mouths open! - A romantic scene people fantasize about but very few actually commit to.

After seeing their day come to life my advice is think different and adapt - trust your vendors and your vision.
If you have to rethink your guest numbers or time of year take it as an exciting change.
It may mean you get to break trends and tailor the day to make it your own.
